Double up with a day and night shoot – how it helps your marketing campaign
The time of day your home is photographed can play a significant role in your online appearance as most homes are first discovered on Internet sites such as realestate.com.au or domain.com.au. So, it is important that you have a broad choice of photographs (that showcase your home) to choose from.
So, doubling up your photos by opting for both a day shoot and a night shoot could give you that visual impact that makes your listing stand out from others.
A daytime shoot is fantastic if you want to showcase your home in natural light. Open your curtains and blinds (clean windows!) and let that natural light highlight your homes features. However, harsh sunlight can create harsh shadows or even haze so this might be the time to use a night photo instead.
If you look at the following two photos, while the compositions are slightly different, you can see that shooting during the day created a lot of reflection on the floor, by shooting again in the early evening, we were able to cut out a lot of that reflection.
This is another fitting example as to why having both options in your arsenal can really help. When we first photographed this house during the day, we did not notice the garden lights, or the amount of outside entertaining lights were fixed to the house. Just look at the difference!
While in the case above the agent did book us for a twilight shoot too, but if the agent did not, we would not have known how stunning this house looked at twilight. This house made such an impact, that it was featured in the Saturday’s Advertiser Real Estate lift out.
How does a day-to-night shoot work?
Day-to-night shoots do take more work than the average shoot because we need to allow for two visits.
We schedule the first shoot in the morning, and then the second shoot just before dusk.
